Here are just some of the missionaries that we support. 30% of all money given to Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church (with the exception of special designated gifts) goes to missions and/or outreach, both locally and world-wide.

Hans and Gretchen Deutchmann
Missionaries to the Czech Republic

Hans and Gretchen are church planters.
They are involved primarily in the teaching
of English for the purpose of offering this
service to Czech nationals who eagerly
desire to acquire this language skill. Their prayer is that it is a tool whereby they can build relationships in order to have the opportunity to share, with all those who are open, the love of Christ and the gospel of Christ. They do this primarily through camps and the regular courses at the English Plus+ Center.

Hans is also a team leader which requires administrative and supervisory oversight. They are also involved in counseling, and they use their apartment for hospitality. Hans also has preached regularly at their church and in other settings.

You can visit the Deutchmann's ministry website.

                                         Sam and Lois Mateer
                                         Missionaries to Chile

Sam is involved in a two fold ministry, first as Country Director for Mission
to the World which includes pastoring, guiding, mentoring and directing
the missionaries in Chile. Sam deeply enjoys this type of administration!
The second ministry is working part time as pastor of the English
speaking international church in San Marcos. Sam says that he has never had so much fun pastoring a church as much as this one.

Lois directs the music at San Marcos, and is director of a master's program for Azusa Pacific University in leadership development.

                                           Kurt and Beth Symanzik
                                           Missionaries for Bible Translation

Kurt and Beth have a passion for the 300+ million people in the world
who cannot yet have any part of the Bible in their own language
because it has yet to be translated. There are currently 2,644
languages that do not have a translation project even started yet.

Kurt will use his computer experience, training, and programming skills to increase the speed of Bible translation around the world. Kurt will specialize in writing software that will help 5,000 plus Wycliffe missionaries working in over 70 countries. This will enable Bible translation to proceed at an even faster pace by enabling Wycliffe missionaries the world over to work more efficiently, effectively, and with less duplication of effort.

You can find out more about the Symanzik's ministry as well as about Bible translation in general by visiting the Symanzik's website.

                                           Jeff and Esther Talley
                                            Missionaries work in Poprad, Slovakia

Jeff and Esther worked in Trnava, Slovakia from June, 2004 to June,
2008.  The church they helped to start and establish there is now led
by a young Slovak pastor whom Jeff mentored.  The ministry center
called the “Building” was a multi faceted community outreach project to
help our MTW team to connect people to Christ and disciple new believers.  It has been closed down now that the church is moving ahead relying more on its own resources for reaching out to their fellow Slovaks in Trnava.

After a one-year HMA Jeff and Esther returned to Slovakia in August, 2009.  They immediately moved from Trnava to Poprad in north central Slovakia.  There, with MTW colleagues, they are planning to start churches in the cities of the eastern part of Slovakia.  Their work between now and next September is to sharpen and deepen their skill in Slovak language, network with other evangelicals in the region, evangelize Slovaks through friendship and hospitality and develop a ministry plan for planting churches in eastern Slovakia.  Jeff says, “we are privileged to bring the Gospel of God’s free and sovereign grace to the heart of central Europe.”
